An initial recollection on the 39th G.A. of TISL

I will certainly be writing more on this issue, but at present I just wanted to say that MTSU faired well during the 39th General Assembly of the Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature, which meets annually at the Capitol in November. Details concerning MTSU:

• Shayna Taylor won the election for Speaker of the House for the 40th General Assembly of TISL.
• Steven Altum, Jacob Herman, and yours truly each won the Carlyle Award for Effective Legislators.
• 2 of 3 bills I brought to the floor passed (changing the primary process and lowering the age of admittance to rated “R” movies passed; photo ID to vote did not pass).

As I said, I will certainly be writing more in the coming days about this excellent experience.
