Matthew Hurtt graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science. Upon graduation, he moved to Washington, D.C. to work as a Campus Services Coordinator for the Leadership Institute in the states of Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and West Virginia. While at the Leadership Institute, Hurtt trained hundreds of conservative activists all over the country.
In March 2010, Hurtt left the Leadership Institute to manage a state senate race in Maryland. He loves the campaign trail.
Matthew is active within the community and is a member of several civic organizations. He ran for local office in 2006 and continues to be involved in local and state politics. In 2007, he attended the Leadership Institute’s flagship school where he received practical training for political campaigns.
He admires conservative icons like Barry Goldwater, Ronald Reagan, and William F. Buckley, Jr.
